Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's biodiversity. Given these benefits, DCH scheduled the Dah Chong Hong Tree Planting Day in May to help us give back to our planet and support the environment.
The tree planting journey started in early morning on May 19, as a team of over 80 DCH volunteers and DCH Motor Club members arrived at the Wan Tsai South Campsite in Sai Kung after almost 2 hours’ bus and ferry ride. Despite the extremely hot weather, every volunteer made their best effort to plant trees on the hillside following the guideline thoroughly – dig a hole, place the saplings, backfill, compact the soil, and water it at the end. Bearing the fierce heat, our volunteers planted more than 100 trees!
