Dah Chong Hong (Canada) Ltd. was established in Vancouver in 1983 and it was mainly involved in food trading business. It imports food from mainland China and distributes to retailers in Canada; and also exports Canadian food to mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan.

In 1985, Dah Chong Hong (Canada) Ltd. set up a subsidiary DCH Motors Ltd. to start a car dealership known as Richmond Acura. Richmond Acura is the first Acura dealership in Canada. It is consistently one of the highest volume Acura dealer in Western Canada. Its award winning sales team consists of sales-consultants from different ethnic backgrounds, and the service department has factory-trained, highly-skilled technicians. In addition, it has an in-house leasing division that provides financing alternatives to conventional car loans.
